A Surprise Baby Shower!!

I have a much loved friend aka colleague who is about to deliver her 3rd baby, and...I found out that she never had a baby shower??!!! So, I decided to make her a mini-baby-shower surprise.

It was really last minute, but I managed to get nearly the entire department to my 'partner-in-crime', including my 2 big bosses!! - This is really rare!!

Exactly 2 working days before the surprise party, I completely forgot about the cake!! I really wanted to get her a nice cake as she has sweet tooth and very good taste buds!! I was calling every good cake maker I know in Kuala Lumpur and PJ to get them make me a medium-sized fondant/gum-paste cake...knowing it is impossible but I still kept on trying *so adamant*...In the end?? I GAVE UP!!!

But I had something up my sleeves...I decided to buy a nice cake from my favorite cake shop/kiosk : Just Heavenly by A Slice of Heaven (http://asliceofheaven.my/), trust me their cakes are all Yummeh-licious!!!

I was thinking of decorating the cake myself!! With what?? Hahahhaha!!! Royal icing cake toppers, kekeke!!! So there I was hunting for cake toppers...no one could do it in time for me!!! And so I googled...and googled...and googled somemore...TADA!!! I found them!!! They sell ready make cake toppers!!! Where?? Each toppers are not very big, about 1inch - 1 1/2 inches (depending on design)...And there much more design from where that came from...Cake Connection@Jaya One!!

The best part was getting the helium balloon into the office and not letting her notice!! Boy this was a real challenge!!! You see my this dear friend kinda go everywhere with me (or the other way round)..so it is not easy to ensure that she does not suspect anything *I felt a little bad to make excuse to ditch her for lunch!! that day* Anyway, when she was brought into the board room by my bosses, thinking there was an important meeting...she was completely surprise when she saw so many of us, the balloons, the cake and the gifts...her face expression worth a million dollars!!! So this was it... there were more balloons, but again...stupidly I forgot to bring my camera to work!!

Each helium pumped balloon cost about RM3 - 35, depending on what type of balloons, most expensive would be those aluminum-liked ones. I choose the slightly expensive ones...metallic balloons...needed the classy touch =))

*Also I had them delivered for an extra RM30, I felt it was worth the money as I really had no time to collect them and there was so many pumped-up balloons!!*

These were the 2 pressie we all bought for her...I just had to personally do the wrapping...the pressie is huge!! The pink one I had to combine 2 wrappers and the black one I had to combine 4 wrappers...When I was doing it, it was literally hogging my house's hall floor!! But I had fun =))

All I have to say is that...this was really a challenge as I was pressured with the limited time available...but it really paid off...The surprised face of my good friend!!
