An Indonesian Affair @ Brisik

I went to collect some stuffs at Jaya One in Petaling Jaya one afternoon...and I stumble across a small restaurant called Brisik...Yea I was hungry alright and I did not want to have any fusion or western food...I dont know why but somehow I got attracted to their bunting stating 'Masak Lemak Cili Padi' *drool*

And so I decided to step in...If you are entering from the ground floor...you need to take the stairs up =)

As I went up the small stairs...TaDa!!! Wow!!! It feels so cozy!!! Opened their menu, selection was crazily huge...price was very reasonable too... And the rest I will leave for you to see for yourself =))

The menu, wrapped with some Sarong-liked fabric

This was the plate given to eat...cute!

My Teh Tarik Ice...Not too sweet =)
They have the famous Indonesian Alpokat (Avacado) drink too!!
But I just wanted a Teh Tarik that day =))

Gado Gado...A Platter of mixes steamed vegetables, eggs, taufu (beancurd) and keropok sayur (local vegetable crackers) served with slightly spicy fragrant peanut sauce...Perfection!! (Good for sharing and as starter)

I strictly recommend this to those that can tolerate extreme spicy!!! Woooosh!! This is darn good!! I give it 5 stars, although I needed so many glasses of water to kill the spicyness, It was just too good!!!
Masak Lemak Cabai Rawa, Chicken (Cabai Rawa = Cili Padi). If you really want to have a taste of this but extreme spicy is not your thing? You can try to ask them to make it less spicy perhaps??

This is what's inside the Masak Lemak Cabai Rawa, Chicken
(The portion is not too small not to big as well, can share)

Pucuk Paku Chili, this is just slightly spicy...Tasty!!!

All rice are served like this in Brisik, wrapped in a cone shape with banana leaves...creative!

We decided to try Nasi Brisik...Pumpkin Rice...Yummeh!!

If you don't fancy to order ala carte...During the weekends, Brisik also serves Long Hi-Tea from 12pm - 5pm and it is only RM29.90++ per person!! I was also told by the restaurant manager if you purchase from online deal sites like Everyday and MyDeal it is only RM29.90 nett!! Do make reservations before you come, especially for Sunday dinning as currently is rather full.

Here are some of what they serve in their Long Hi-Tea...

Nasi Liwek (Coconut Rice cooked with some herbs)

Chicken Rendang

Sambal Sotong

Green Bean dessert (Kacang Hijau)

Black Glutinous Rice desert (Pulut Hitam)

Coconut based desert with lotsa other stuffs in it...it's call Bubur Cha Cha!!

Something that caught my attention at their drinks table...They serve Coffee, Tea, Cendol, Cordial Drinks and also Air Mata Kuching (I don't know what it is called in English...hmmm)

They have a made-to-order counter, where you can order fried noodles or spaghetti here =))

Their desert table...lotsa cakes...and some Indonesian deserts

Pisang Goreng (Banana Fritters)

Cucur Udang (I don't know what it is called in English, but it is a batter of flour mixed with prawn and onion and then deep fried, goes well with their home-made chili sauce)

Sago desert (cold and niceeee)

And I nearly got hooked onto this!!! Sum Sum...it is an Indonesian desert where their bring the flour, water and some salt to boil and it turns into this very soft and silky smooth curd, and the  it is served cold with coconut milk and gula melaka...*drools*)

So guys...if you fancy to have a yummeh Indonesian Sunda meal...check out Brisik @ Jaya One ya =))
