Definition of Not So Friendly: Seoul Garden BBQ Buffet, Paradigm Mall Kelana Jaya, Malaysia

Hello My Absolutely Lavish readers..^.^ The post that I am going to post this round would be a rather 'out-of-sorts' kind post..than my usual's...

It is not my nature to write about unhappy things, sucky food or even to criticize (I believe in individual preference)...Unfortunately, there has been a recent scene where it is definitely unacceptable and I would wanna share it to 1/10 of the world so they can 'laugh' along with me...I'll let you judge...^.^

Recently (on a weekend) I decided to go do some shopping at Paradigm Mall with my mom...it is kinda new mall and it is currently THE mall to go, all the happenings are there....you'll find all kind of food here...and many good shopping outlets: Sephora, Payless, Marks & Spencer, H&M etc etc...

It was close to 5 and I was so craving for Korean BBQ...and I tot 'Owh there is Seoul Garden here' let's go!! And so I arrive...it is on the outside block (the boulevard area) of the main mall...

As I arrived...to begin with...no one standing at the door to greet you...and so I pushed the glass door in and stood at the cashier...since it is buffet you will have to pay before you sit...there were only 3 or four occupied tables...a couple of empty but uncleaned tables...my mom choose her seat whilst I paid RM102.

The table was not properly wiped, you can see the oil stains from the previous diner...the chair had oil too!! So my mom asked one of the staff there to wipe...funny, he took a tissue to wipe...I sat down and my chair had oil too but it was at the corner of the chair...I was hungry couldn't care-less (it was those long-ish couch)

Here, have a look for yourself...
This group left 10minutes I came...15 minutes later the table was still like this...(owh did I mention, there is close to no customers, meaning it is not peak hour, no reason to not get it cleared, right? No?
When they decided to clean the table....the just took all the plates and junk away...but they left the table un-wiped...can you see traces of cup-rings? And oil on the table? So, if you were a new customer in the outlet, are you going to sit at that table??

My mom being my mom...paranoid...she asked me for wet wipes to wipe her chair...after that she was looking around for a bin to throw...she spotted one behind the cashier but was closed...she didn't go there as it was behind the cashier...she spotted another one that was behind the buffet counter where the kitchen is (it's and open kitchen)...it was storming outside so she didn't go out although se saw a bin further outside of the shop...the table behind us was uncleaned, so my min decided to put the tissue on the uncleaned table (since it has not been cleaned)...suddenly, I hear a 'Oi, what are you doing' (I was texting in my phone) then I heard my mom replied 'I can't find a bin' then I looked up....the guy behinds the buffet counter at the open kitchen was sounding my mom for putting the tissue on the uncleaned table!!! He relied my mom 'you don't know how to ask my staff to throw?!' his tone was very bad!! I had to reply to him...'there is no staff around!' there were only like 3 staffs and there were barely locatable!! He had to reply me 'you can call my staff to throw, why you throw at the table?!' so I replied 'the tissue was thrown on the uncleaned table, we didn't throw it on the floor'...then I looked around..there were tissues underneath my table and around the floor!! Use straws on he floor too!! So I told him off...'there are tissues in the floor, your floor is so dirty, you should have scolded your customers too those that litter on the floor...I put the tissue on the uncleaned table'...he had to debate with me 'you can ask my staff to throw for you, they will do it!!' and he shook his head and had that stupid stare...OMG!! I felt like talking to a uneducated person who does not understand English!! He is clearly a Foreigner!! My mom asked, I want to speak with your manager...he replied...Manager? I am the Manager, my name is Zorro...he even spelt it out ZORRO (or was it ZORO, I don't care!)
Can you see the oil spots? It was like that all over on my mom's seat (how not to wipe??)...I wipe my chair a little but could not bother the bit at the end...too hungry =.=!!

I told him off, what sort of display of attitude...even if so you should say nicely like 'Sorry Miss can you not throw the tissue there...I will ask my staff to throw for you'...or something of sorts...I am a paying customer for good heaven's sake!! The worst I could not understand that he is shouting across from the kitchen!! And it's just a tissue! Hence the place is not even clean!! Oil traces over the floor- so scared if some one slips!! My mom n sister been there before and saw military of ants on the drinks table!! Owh Eewwww!!!

Can you see trails of oil on the floor?? The outlet is long..the trails of oil was all over the floor, you can see the trails of oil from the buffet area onwards and even once you enter the from the glass door!!
That is the buffet line and open kitchen...that guy you see there is the so-called manager...Yes, he scolded us from across, there is even a railing partition...Owh yea, the messy table you see, that bunch left possibly 20minutes ago...

Owh Owh, did I tell you, I have not started eating yet! Being so pissed I really wanted to for-go my RM102 and walk out...but I am a really patient person...did I eat there? Hell No!! I don't have to pay to eat at a place where service is at it's worst!! And Paradigm has hell lotsa other place to eat!!

And so...I decided to call their main outlet at One Utama (the service there is tip top, been there before)...the Manager Mr. Nicky picked up my call and I decided to tell him the story...he claimed with me Zorro is just the person in charge there...the Manager is Eric...who also look after many other outlet...he apologized on Seoul Garden Paradigm's behalf and offered to dine at One Utama, but it was storming...so he asked if I would like a refund...I said 'Yes, Please and I wish for the Management to do something about that guy...the place already is kinda empty- they had to promote it via Groupon! And yet this kind of attitude...it is just gonna kill that outlet, trust me! And so Nicky handled my case...a while later I saw that self proclaimed manager talking on the phone quite long...I heard the word tissue many times, not sure I he twisted the story, as he talked he stared at me and so I stared back- I did noting wrong and I am a customer...even if I litter on the floor you should not raise your voice on me...unless if I smoke indoor then yes you have the right to ask me not too or even ask me to leave! Plus, your outlet is not that of clean!!
And the table was still unclean when I was about to leave the place (possibly 30minutes in total)

Can you see how dirty the place is? Can you see all the tissue on the floor and all the used straws?? Was it wrong that my mom had left the used tissue on the uncleaned table, just so that when the waiter do clean the table he could throw it together? We did not litter on the floor and we got scolded, I wonder what happened to those that threw all the tissue and straw on the floor?? Hmm....Doomed to hell possibly...=.=!!!

Nicky called me back and say the person in charge will do a refund for me and said sorry a few times, I told him the one that should apologize is not him is the other guy...and so a few minutes later the self proclaimed manager came to my table and asked for my receipt...I gave it to him, he gave me my money back and just stared at me...no intention at all to apologize, and so I did not say thank you either, but I just smiled...I am brought up in a very polite and well manner family- Manners comes from upbringing that is a fact!

And so I left the outlet and went to Bar B-Q Plaza...a favorite place of mine to have BBQ and Steamboat at the same time, hehe!! The service there is tip top!! They keep coming to our table to ensure our soup and drink are refilled!! To my surprise I had so much to eat it cost me only RM80!! They deserved my tips ^.^

And so that was the silly tissue experience I had in Seoul Garden Paradigm Mall.

Should you guys decide to dine there...first thing first watch where you walking and I'd you decided to wipe the oily chair or table...remember, litter the tissue inside your handbag or just hold on to it, otherwise you might just get scolded- from across the open kitchen =p

Signing off for now!! Wishing all a customer-friendly dining experience ^.^

Ushering The Year of Our Slithery Friend @ Cheers Palace, Cheras

I'm not a fan of reptiles...2013 is indeed the year of the Snake...slithery or not...it's still gonna be a great year!! ^.^

Ain't a reptile fan, I'm sure a seafood fan!! Owh, who doesn't love shell fishes?? Hahaha!! And so we head of to Cheers Palace yet another one Unique Seafood restaurants ^.^ Why there?? Just cuz you get to picj your seafood from the stacked up tanks!! Check it out for yourself!!

Before I forget...main motive here is to 'Lou Sang' and Geoduck Clam!!! Wooohooo!!!

See those wrigley huge wormy-like...those are Geoduck Clams!! Yes I know what else you are thinking off, hahahaha!!!

Trust me when I tell you...I have not seem Crab bigger than my face!!! It's a pretty good place to educate your kinds on seafood actually, hahaha!!

More tanks!! Aha Aha!! best part is that name of the seafood and prices are there too!!

Big Meat Crab that's their name ^.^
The most common seafood you'll ever find ^.^ My favorite (besides crabs, keke!)
This fish looked lonesome...so just decided to take a pic of it, hahaha!!

My first Yee Sang of 2013...Hmm....Come to think of it, there is many more to come!!! *burp* I ain't a big fan of it, but love the fun of mixing it and making wishes whilst mixing it ^.^ What Yee Sang Means? It Means:  Yusheng, yee sang or yuu sahng (Chinese: 鱼生; pinyin: yúshēng; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: hî-seⁿ or hû-siⁿ), or Prosperity Toss, also known as lo hei (Cantonese for 撈起 or 捞起) is a Teochew-style raw fish salad. It usually consists of strips of raw fish (most commonly salmon), mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments, among other ingredients. Yusheng literally means "raw fish" but since "fish (鱼)" is commonly conflated with its homophone "abundance (余)", Yúshēng (鱼生) is interpreted as a homophone for Yúshēng (余升) meaning an increase in abundance. Therefore, yusheng is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor. (Thank you Wikipedia!!)
And this is the outcome!! Cheers to 2013!!!!!! ^.^
This is how the Geoduck Clam is served, it is cleaned, taken out from it's shell and thinly slices (something like sashimi style)...a good Geoduck clam should not stink of mud or seawater ^.^ This was real good Geoduck Clam!! This Geoduck Clam cost about RM300 if not mistaken, could serve up to 10, each could get quite some many slices ^.^ it is reasonably cheap to be honest, for such good quality ^.^

How you eat Geoduck Clam?? 2 Ways!! Either dunk it in a steamy pot of broth/ soup, just for like 3 seconds! OR have it sashimi style!! Raw!!! If it is good Geoduck clam you can taste the sweetness of it ^.^ Usually in chinese restaurant ordering Geoduck will come with a pot of broth/soup and some veges for you to dunk the Geoduck Clam, the soup you will drink it as well, as after sometime of dunkin' Geoduck Clams, OMG the soup is soooooooo goooooood!!!!

This place is a pretty decent one I have to admit, the only thing is that you need to bare with the service when it gets too crowded, would suggest to call in for reservation before visiting. It has 2 floors (a stand alone building), rather famous for weddings too!! Parking? it is fine, there is a huge parking lot behind the restaurant ^.^

So here is to a Absolutely Lavish Lou Sang & Seafood Affair!! ^.^
